Overview

What technology consulting really involves

Good technology consulting is not slideware — it is judgment from people who have actually built and shipped systems. Whether you are deciding what to build, reviewing an architecture, assessing a company before you invest, or hardening security, the value is in specific, honest, actionable guidance grounded in engineering reality.

As a technology consulting and advisory partner, we help across the decisions that matter: technical strategy and roadmaps, architecture reviews, technical due diligence, security and code audits, and specialist advisory on AI, blockchain and cloud. We also help teams work better — topology, standards and fractional technical leadership. Because we build as well as advise, our recommendations are ones we would implement ourselves.

The problems we solve are concrete: choosing the right direction, de-risking a big investment or build, finding the weaknesses before they bite, and levelling up how a team ships. We pair broad, cross-domain experience with hands-on depth — so you get advice that is practical, vendor-neutral and safe to act on.

Advisory work we’ve delivered

Independent, actionable guidance — from engineers who ship.

Architecture & discoveryDue diligence

A short, fixed engagement to clarify the problem, validate feasibility, define the architecture and produce a costed roadmap. The deliverable is a document you can act on with or without us — several clients have taken it in-house, and that is a fair outcome.

Regulatory position, kept currentStrategy

We build to the current regulatory position rather than the one in last year’s slide deck. The EU AI Act timeline moved in July 2026: Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 deferred standalone high-risk obligations under Annex III to 2 December 2027 and embedded-product obligations under Annex I to 2 August 2028 — while Article 50 transparency obligations were not deferred and have applied since 2 August 2026.

Why Magnus Mage

Advice from people who build

We don’t just review — we build the same systems we advise on. That means guidance that is practical, honest and safe to act on.

We’re the engineering partner enterprises and funded startups pick when execution risk, time to launch, and long-term ownership matter — a single accountable team from architecture through operations.

04

Actionable, not theoretical

Prioritised findings and a plan you can execute, not a report that sits on a shelf.

FAQ

Consulting & advisory questions

What clients ask before starting an advisory engagement.

We offer fixed-scope reviews and due diligence, workshops, and ongoing advisory or fractional-CTO retainers. We scope against your goals and give a clear price before work starts.

An architecture review or due diligence typically takes one to three weeks; strategy and enablement engagements vary. We agree a timeline up front.

Clear, prioritised deliverables — findings, an architecture or audit report, threat models and a roadmap — plus a working session to walk your team through them.

Codebase quality, architecture and scalability, security, team and process, and key risks — written up so investors and leadership can make a confident decision.

Yes. We’re an engineering firm first, so we can implement the recommendations — or hand a clear plan to your team.

Always. We work under NDA and handle code, data and findings with strict confidentiality.
